We appreciate your interest in hosting an intern. We are looking for host companies which can provide a welcoming and supportive environment for our students in order to benefit them. We want companies who first and foremost see this as a chance to give back and learn. We require that you have a commercial office, a staff of at least 3, and a workspace available to the intern. By offering students a chance for hands on learning, you provide:
- The ability to help build tomorrow’s workforce
- The potential to increase the number of bright young professionals matriculating to your city upon graduation
- The ability to build networks and recruiting contacts by meeting and observing enthusiastic students looking for employment when they graduate, and exposing them to your organizational culture
- Increased student affinity with your organization as interns are a walking advertisement
- The addition of diversity of thought, global insights, and fresh perspectives to your organization
- Top Notch handles all screening and recruiting processes saving you time and resources. We provide you with a resume and opportunity for a phone interview to assess fit, together with a standard contract documenting the internship and general support and assistance for your program. We also train and support the interns throughout the program. All interns participating in our Intern MAX programs are verified to be enrolled to receive academic credit related to experiential education.
We thought you would be interested to read research related to the field of internships and recruiting:
- Internships were the highest rated recruiting strategy with 80% reporting that the return on investment for internships and co-ops was “good to excellent.” (Gardner, Chao, & Hurst, 2008).
- The internship helped students evaluate corporate culture, which affects permanent job likelihood (Frederickson, 1999)
- Internships provide students insights into what a permanent job would provide and whether they would like it. (Buckhoff, 1995)
- Firms that benefit from internship programs tend to be satisfied with the intern and thus are willing to extend them permanent job offers (Marabello 1991)
