Intern ABROAD - AUSTRALIA

Australia: Sydney/Melbourne

   Sydney Skyline

Location Overview:  Australia’s unique culture, beautiful and diverse landscape, coupled with its skilled workforce and a strong, competitive economy make it an ideal country for an overseas internship.

Australia has a history of innovation, world-class industry capabilities and the geographic advantage of being located in the world’s fastest growing region.

The friendly and relaxed manner of the Australian people make it easy to ‘fit in’ and enjoy yourself. Temperature averages are in the 50s during June and July.

Sydney: Vast, vibrant Sydney is the epitome of the Australian surf, sand and sun cliché. Carved out of sandstone headlands with golden beaches and world-class surf, this sun soaked city offers the ultimate in outdoor living. At the heart of the city is the harbor, arguably one of the most beautiful waterways in the world, where the curves of the Sydney Opera House shimmer in the sunlight and dozens of white sails float beneath the Harbour Bridge. The state capital of New South Wales, Sydney is Australia's oldest and largest city and is a thriving center for both business and the arts with a buzzing cafe culture, and a vibrant nightlife.

Melbourne:   A vibrant cosmopolitan city, Melbourne is located on the magnificent Port Phillip Bay. Melbourne is the 2nd largest city in Australia, the state capital, and is regarded as the cultural and fashion capital of Australia and renowned for its fine restaurants.  It is a true multicultural city with more than one quarter of Melbourne's inhabitants born overseas. The city is extremely racially tolerant and very easy to work and live in. Visitors enjoy a warm and friendly reception. Whereas Sydney is bold and brassy, Melbourne is conservative and refined and has an elegance that appeals to most visitors.

Transportation:  Sydney and Melbourne are both supported by extensive networks of public transport systems.  Personal transportation is not needed.
