Argentina

South America:  Argentina

Location Overview: Argentina's charm, natural beauty, and diversity as well as its business opportunities attracted nearly 500,000 American citizen visitors last year.  With over 13 million people, Buenos Aires is one of the largest and also considered one of the most elegant cities in South America with well-developed facilities and services.

There’s a life and cultural legacy in Buenos Aires that’s all its own. Though chic bohemian artists and hard-drinking expatriates own more than their fair share of the city, the bombardment of tourists and immigrants in the last half decade has done nothing but reinforce a culture that’s based on jumbled ethnicities in the first place.   Maybe, even, it’s that mixed cultural legacy—the legacy that makes Argentine pizza the best in the world and Argentine fútbol fans some of the craziest—that makes spending time here so compelling.

It’s an odd-couple pairing of Paris or Italy, complete with ice cream-and-espresso modernity, with tall white ancestry and a distinctly South American flair. But surrounding the pomp and poverty of it all is a tremendous Argentine culture that makes Buenos Aires a city of captivating complexity and irresistible beauty.  Temperature averages are in the low 50s during June and July.
